Ali Aden, MA, LPC, LADC

Treatment Director

Ali Aden is a licensed alcohol /drug counselor (LADC) and mental health practitioner who graduated with a Master's in Counseling and Psychological Services. Ali has worked in the human service field for the past 11 years. He worked for various non-profit and government agencies in the state of Minnesota. Ali has experience in business management and budgeting. Ali is a passionate clinician who has experience working with adults suffering from co-occurring disorders in different settings that includes residential, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Ali is a father and husband who enjoys spending time with his family and speaks English, Somali, and Arabic languages.

Lul Nur, MA, LPCC, LADC

Clinical Director

Lul Nur is a dual licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and addiction counselor (LADC). Lul has been practicing psychotherapy for the past ten years. She practiced in various settings, including schools, in-home, outpatient clinics, community clinics, and hospital settings. Lul is a trilingual therapist and speaks English, Arabic, and Somali languages. Lul is an enthusiastic and skilled therapist who enjoys working with diverse populations. She incorporates a variety of therapeutic orientations into her practice, including, CBT, DBT, EMDR, Play therapy, Trauma System therapy, Art therapy, and Narrative therapy. In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Martha Sorenson, MSW, LICSW

Clinical Social Worker And Therapist

Martha Sorenson is a licensed clinical social worker and therapist (LICSW). She has been practicing as a LICSW for the past 9 years. Martha has extensive experience working with immigrants and refugees. Her compassionate and sincere approach for counseling is focused on radical healing for communities of color. Martha specializes in helping clients heal from complex trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, personality disorders, and life transitions. As a therapist, she believes it takes courage to pursue counseling. Martha works to establish a safe, healing, and judgment free space for her clients.

Amal Abdinur, MA

Therapist

Amal received her MA in Counseling and Psychology from Saint Mary’s University in Minnesota.

Amal is working towards her licensed professional clinical counseling (LPCC) licensure. Amal speaks Somali and English. She has experience working with children, adolescents and adults in areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, life transitions, and relational problems. Her treatment approach is strength based, focusing on the individual strengths that each person uniquely possesses. Amal utilizes CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, and trauma focused approaches. She is committed to empowering her clients with tools, skills, and knowledge they need to perform optimally in their daily life.

Brooks Waldron, MS 

LADC Supervisor

Brooks has been a licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC) since 2015. He has experience with both adults and juveniles, but primarily with those individuals who have criminal justice involvement. He has worked both in the community and within various correctional institutions. Brooks has been trained in numerous evidence-based curriculums and approaches for helping individuals with substance abuse and criminal behaviors. He cares about bringing his approach with clients further into line with the best evidence on what works to help individuals reach their goals. Brooks is a father of three and enjoys spending time with his family hiking in the woods or on one of the Minnesota lakes.
